Joy Hyman, M.A., CCC-SLP, University of Akron, is Director of Hyman Hearing & Speech Center and a clinical speech language pathologist with 25 years of experience in many settings. Ms. Hyman initiated and directed the Speech and Language Program at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio for eight years. She has served as speech-language coordinator of several home-health agencies in northwest Ohio. She is on the medical staff at St. Luke's Hospital. Ms. Hyman is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in the program of Speech Pathology and Audiology, College of Health, Bowling Green State University. She is Past President of the Ohio Speech, Language and Hearing Association, Toledo Ballet and Toledo Ballet Guild. Ms. Hyman specializes in working with children (18 months and older) who have speech and language disorders including Apraxia and Autism. She is a member of ASHA, NWOSHA, and AAO. She has lectured widely on various topics in speech and language. She authors a column called "Communication Hints" for various papers. Joy holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Assosication (ASHA) and is licensed in speech pathology by the Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology, State of Ohio. She is licensed by the State of Ohio Hearing Aid Dealer and Fitters Licensing Board.
Karen has been employed by Hyman Hearing & Speech Center for the past seventeen years. She is a clinical audiologist with over 20 years of experience, Karen has worked with all age groups from infants to adults. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, (ASHA) and is a member of ASHA. She is licensed in Audiology by the Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology, in the State of Ohio.
